My question is actually along the same lines as Awenasa: the issue of Magickal timing. I’m of the thinking that it’s better to go with the current rather than fight against it in accordance with whatever the planetary signs are at any given point. I’ve avoided doing any magickal work during a Void-of-Course moon, and as a result it’s not uncommon to postpone something for a later time. Also there’s the limitations on what’s best to do (or avoid doing) during a waning moon versus waxing, then there’s the deal with planetary days and planetary hours.
Ideally all the conditions are in place when I have a need to do a working, but it’s often the case that one or most of those conditions wouldn’t be favorable, but at the same time it’s a situation where I can’t postpone till conditions are ideal. In these situations I’d just go with doing the magick, but it seems to often be the case that nothing results from working under unfavorable conditions — especially if there’s a preponderance of them. I have however gotten good results from working with the Shem angels from your two angel books, and although I haven’t done enough workings with them to say anything for certain, it seems perhaps the angelic magick aren’t as restrained by astrological conditions aside from starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday.
What’s your take on this issue? And are certain types of magick more susceptible to these astrological signs? Anything you have to say on the whole waning/waxing moon bit? (It seems that sometimes the moon phases aren’t always so important. I’ve gone against it many times, and results seem either hit-or-miss, but nothing set in stone.)
I never postpone. It the moon’s waning I see it as reducing the opposition to the result I want. Astrological influences can assist but should not bind or restrict. That’s just my opinion, but it works for me, and I don’t think the magick is every affected adversity unless a practitioner worries about the astrological issues. Obviously, I don’t completely ignore it – I used the Thursday and Sunday, as you not, and the astro symbols are on the angelic sigils. But I just don’t let it control me.

Thank you. The archangels book will look at contacting a host of archangels for long term solution to problems. There are many ways to contact archangels, from simply saying the name with sincerity, to full-blown ritual. I expect the book will be out around the middle of the year. Thanks for your interest.
