The Master Works of Chaos Magick

Many years of my life were spent in the world of Chaos Magick, and you could argue that I never completely moved on. One of the aims of The Gallery of Magick is to simplify magick. We do that, for the most part, using a complex methodology that involves evocation and contemplation, but I can’t deny that some of the processes are influenced by Chaos Magick. It still plays a part in what we do.

Chaos Magick is less about tradition and rules than it is about personal experience, but when you’ve read the grand ideas behind the chaos movement, you wonder what exactly it is that you’re meant to do. Which is where The Master Works comes in. Whether you’re an old hand or a complete beginner, Adam’s focus is on teaching magick that works.

He’s put together an assortment of practical rituals, and gets across the main Chaos concepts without dragging his heels in theory. You can use the magick straight out of the book. There’s even a self-contained grimoire for calling on The Olympic Spirits, complete with sigils.

This is not the final word on magick, but I believe it is a valuable contribution to our library, and there’s no denying that the magick works.

Damon Brand

This is what it says on the back of the book:

This book presents a revolutionary style of Chaos Magick. These ideas are original, direct and above all, practical.

You will discover:

The secrets of Instant Alchemy, Emotional Crafting and The Fire of Gnosis.

How to generate Magickal Chaos Energy, to empower all your workings.

Influence Magick, Thoughtforms and an alternative form of Sex Magick.

  1. has any one who had no successes with the old way to make sigil but got success with the new way?

    1. I’m closing this page and moving questions to:

You may want to ask it there. However, the book has only been on sale for a few days. Lots of people have said they like the method, but it may be too early to know whether it’s worked, and responses from other readers may take time.

  2. i just stared using the new sigili tech but the book does not say how many you can fire off in one day?

  3. This is a great book!I love the question form ‘how did …’ it struck me first in the Angel books and creates another vibe really easily. In some way this book gave me alot more confidence because it’s easy to see what is and isn’t neccasary to do your own magic. The emphasis on emotional transmutation is really important and has been key to me.I’m glad that Adam pointed out about working with established magical beings and not just ‘making up’ your own.I’m going to try working with Bast.An excellent book, thanks.

    1. I couldn’t agree more about the ‘making up’. Yes, you can, but mostly you don’t. Really glad you like the book.

  4. Hey Damon i just read the part of Seduction, the eye contact method seems interesting but i was thinking that the book would have something about increasing sex appeal and attraction like M Seduction, i guess i could achieve that with the sigil magick right? And I haven’t read the part of the Olympic Spirits but i think there is a spirits from the Olympic that helps with that attraction and sex appeal am i wrong?

Also I didn’t understand the Gesture Magick at all could you explain it to me quickly, how can i do it in a ritualistic manner?

And thoughtforms vs Servitors im a little bit confused about it, first because i really love your Servitor Book but if thoughtforms are kinda like servitors why would we bother on creating a servitor?

And about the effigy sounds interesting am i right if i consider it kinda looks like a voodoo doll?

    1. There is a lot of magick out there that can be used for increasing sex appeal, from the angelic magick through to Magickal Seduction, and a complete method in this book (which you mention), so too much more would be overkill, I think. But yes, the sigil magick can be used for just about anything. The scale of results will depend on many factors, and only by trying it will you know whether it works better for you than other methods.

I can’t comment on a section of the book that you haven’t read yet (Olympic Spirits).

I can’t explain the gesture magick any better than the book, except to say that you are creating a living metaphor. One thing becomes another. If you don’t grasp it on first reading, let it sink in for a while.

You’d bother to create a servitor because, as you say, they are only ‘kinda like’ thoughtforms. A servitor can be designed and tasked and empowered in a very specific way. Also, Adam explains in the sixth paragraph of that chapter when it’s best to use a thoughtform, so the applicability of each approach should be clear.

The effigy description is short, but there are details in there that make it quite distinct from ‘voodoo’.

      1. I know that M. seduction, but Angelic magick? Which Angel would you refer? Also i just finish reading Olympic Spirits chapter.
And one other Thing, Adam says in the book that with Chaos we could work with any spirit, if that’s the case i always wanted to work with the Archangel Barakiel for success and good fortune, do you know how could i work with him if i dont even have the correct Sigil formthat spirit.

        Thank you

        1. As for angel, you could start with Vehuiah, Yeliel, Lelahel, Lovel, Mihel… the powers are not just those listed. Those that are listed could work, but it is possible to glean more, as described in the book.

Glad you’ve read that chapter. I’m sure you can see which spirits would work.

If you want to move on to other spirits then, as Adam suggests, you will need to do your own research. If nothing is readily available, then you may have to invent a method that works without a sigil. It can be done – a name and an intention might be all you need.

          1. Thank you Damon! I see that i could use Hagith and Phul.

Does You, Gordon and Zanna use and like Chaos?

            1. Zanna yes. I do sometimes, in a rush, and when I’m feeling a need for something rapid, creative or otherwise unusual. I need to feel inspired. And as I mentioned above, it still feeds into the general principle of simplification. Gordon would say that he doesn’t really perform Chaos Magick, per se, but would also be the first to admit that it was seeing others do Chaos Magick that led to him developing new ideas, and putting The Gallery where it is today. There were documents and ideas in existence that needed some inspiration, and that came from Chaos. So it’s made a difference to us all.

  5. if i understand correctly i can use this system to contact entities other then the ones in the book ?

    1. Yes. It will require some research and work on your part. You’re shown a grimoire for the Olympic spirits, then told how that was created, and from there you can hopefully be inspired to create your own method for other spirits.

    1. There are sigils. “Sigil Magick Remastered – a completely new way of tapping into the essence of magick.” So, yes, that’s a new way of creating sigils. But there are many other ideas in the book as well. The description above gives more detail than I can in a reply, but if you’re curious you might want to click on Look Inside on the Amazon page, and then you can read the first few pages, see the chapter titles and get an idea of whether it’s going to work for you.

Actually, I’ve just tested that, and it’s not working. However, the free sample is working, you could try that.

I’ll try to get them to sort out the Look Inside feature.

      1. ok thank you it wasn’t working me but i should read the blog better lol
        thanks again.

  6. Hey Damon, congrats to the GoM and Adam for this great book.

When he talks about Sigil Magick he talks about getting into an altered state of consciousness and he mentions several methods like the Orgasm method. Must of us here are kind of ritualistic when performing GoM rituals, obviously we like straightforward and quick techniques, and if he says that the sigil should be fired up the same day, i would like to do it the moment im doing my “ritual” so if i dont want to have an orgasm , he mentions another method that is chanting the divine names for 10 min approximately, obviously that could be ritualistic and ceremonial and work, but for me chanting for 10 mins its to boring and complicated, so if i don’t want to do the Orgasm method or the Chanting method, what other methods could do the trick? (Being simple and fast like th orgasm) what suggestions or ideas could you give us.

    Thank you

    1. As you’ve probably gathered, the idea is to take what’s there (several methods on offer), or if not, contrive your own from what already works for you. Alternatively, you could chant for one minute. Or allow the boredom to be a part of the process.

Another process is to simply use the method from the Magickal Chaos Energy chapter and when you’ve built the energy, fire it into the sigil.

  7. Hi Damon. I just bought the paperback version of this new Chaos Magick book, to add to my library of all of your other books. Do you know if the kindle version is free for those who purchase the paperback, the same way that all of yours and Gordon’s books are? Amazon isn’t letting me download the kindle version.

  8. Adam also mentioned genii in the book. What kind of Spirits are those and will there be a book published about them?

    1. The genii are employed in Magickal Cashbook and Magickal Riches, as well as in Magickal Protection. To get an idea of what they are, this is buried away in the Cashbook FAQ.

Q: Who is the spirit Nitika?

A: Nitika is neither an angel or demon, but is thought of as a genius spirit or ‘personified virtue’. Nitika is a very gentle yet powerful spirit, and is listed as one of The Genii of the Twelve Hours in the Nuctemeron, attributed to Apollonius of Tyana from the First Century AD. Nitika was made known to English readers through a translation by Eliphas Levi in his 1897 book Transcendental Magic. The magic of Nitika has been around for a long time, but remains relevant and workable today.

  9. Hi Damon,
I just bought the print version that you linked to, but I can’t get the Kindle matchbook. Is it because they’re two separate listings?

      1. That’s what I’ve been doing. It’s showing that I don’t have any Kindle Matchbook titles, and I think it might because the print version and the Kindle version are two separate listings.

        1. It’s definitely set up as a Matchbook, and over on Facebook a few people have reported it working. It might be because the pages aren’t linked yet. Once they are, you might want to try again. Please note it only works for, and not the other Amazon sites around the world.

  10. I gotta say. I love this guy already and I’m not even into the core of the book. His sense of humor resonates deeply with my own. I will have questions in the future for sure. But for now I just wanted to say… lulz

    1. I love the sense of humour too. I doubt everybody will, but that’s OK. I’m fairly serious, but I think magick can occasionally use a dose of humour. I find that if you take everything too seriously, magick has a way of forcing you to reconsider that outlook.

  11. you say complex methodology that involves evocation and contemplation will an evocation book be coming?

    1. Sooner or later. But don’t hold your breath. The focus at present is on practical magick that can work for most people. The reality of evocation is that many people find it difficult. We have a simplified method, but the challenge is to present it in a way that will generate the correct response from the reader.

  12. Purchased, for the section on the Olympic Spirits.

The author mentions that this system has been used for 6 years.
Have the spirits been brought to manifestation in a scrying stone using this method,
    or only tasked?
    Thank you in advance.

    1. That exact method is more about tasking, but as you’ll gather from the following chapters (and the whole book) it can be adapted in so many ways, and if you have an affinity for evocation you can get there from here. What’s written there will work to get results, which is what most people want. If you want an actual manifestation, you will need to adapt it, but I believe you’ve got the essential tools there and just need to push it further.

      1. could you explain in what do you mean you “would need to push it further”?

        1. Well, the book is largely about creating or developing your own magick – so if you read Chapter 13, and then elaborate from there, then you could apply aspects of evocation from other systems (simplified) to expand on this process. If you take in the ideas that are scattered through the whole book, then you’ll find a way.

          1. thanks again just ordered the paper back this book stood out to me because of how meany systems are in it.

            1. We no longer announce books, or their content, until they’re just about to be published, but we did mention some time ago (before this policy was put in place) that archangels will be covered in various books.

      2. What was noticeably missing was a word of power appropriate to commanding the Olympic spirits, such as אראריתא

Although we use divine names to evoke them,
isn’t a word of power essential to the procedure?

        Thank you in advance.

        1. If it was essential it would be in there. It’s also worth noting that some people would say that a lot more is essential. When you add in all then essential techniques, you’ve got the original Arbatel. I’m exaggerating, slightly, to make the point. It was simplified as far as possible and no more. Being Chaos Magick, you can add in more – such as words of power – if you want it to feel more substantial. It is astonishing how simplified you can go, and still get results.

          1. Yes, I understand your point.
I was expecting some new information key to commanding them.
            Thank you.

          2. A worthwhile purchase, with many good points – I should add.

  13. Is the paperback version still anticipated this weekend? So far it only lists the kindle version. I usually get the print and the kindle versions. I’m anxious to get my hands on a new G.O.M book.

    1. Thank you so very much! I am in the U.S., so I used the link you posted and purchased the paperback, then clicked the picture of the book in the blog to get the kindle version. So I am good to go now! Thanks again and a Magickal weekend to all!
